State decides to limit spiralling treatment, admission rates at private hospitals; latter not too happy about the move.
The
Maharashtra state government on Friday decided to cap admission and treatment costs for
Mucormycosis or black fungus patients at all private hospitals. The latter may not have taken too kindly to the move.
The decision came after the state took into consideration high treatment costs at private hospitals. The state government has made Mucormycosis cases notifiable and its treatment free at all government hospitals and 132 Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana-empaneled hospitals (state-run and private).
