CANTON — The town and village boards hosted a public hearing to field ideas for local projects that might be funded by the state’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act grants.
The town and village’s Economic Development Department office plans to apply for the funding, part of the state's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, which makes $60 million available to municipalities in New York. Canton’s public hearing Wednesday was one of the steps required by the state in the application process.
The hearing was held to garner public input on funding application priorities.
