Canton beach set to open Memorial Day weekend; swimming lessons offered at CCS

CANTON — The Canton Recreation Department has announced that Taylor Park Beach will open Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 29, to Monday, May 31.
The beach will be open weekends in June, then full time beginning Monday, June 28. Beach hours for the summer will be Monday to Friday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Swimming lessons for all levels will be offered at the Canton Central School pool during the month of July, between 8 and 11 a.m.
The Recreation Department welcomes applications for lifeguards and swim instructors. Lifeguards must be at least 16 years old and require Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Waterfront certification; swimming instructors require Basic Swim Instructor (BSI) and/or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification.
