One kilogram of cannabis has been recovered from a van at a Caithness ferry terminal.
Police said that local officers, supported by colleagues from Border Policing Command, carried out searches at Gills Bay.
After making inquiries with the driver of a Mercedes Veto Transporter van, they searched the vehicle. Police said that one kilogram of cannabis â with a value of between £10,000 and £15,000 â was recovered from inside.
A 54-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
The search came as part of the ongoing Operation Ruling activity taking place across Caithness.
Chief Inspector Jamie Wilson, local area commander for Caithness, said: âA large part of Operation Ruling involves intelligence gathering and then utilising Police Scotlandâs various specialist departments to support the excellent work being undertaken by Caithnessâs local officers on a daily basis.
