Two days after Jairam Mahto, an independent candidate for the Giridih Lok Sabha constituency, filed his nomination papers and managed to evade arrest in a two-year-old case filed by Ranchi Police, election officials in Bokaro district asked the candidate to be present in the election office on May 7 for verification of certain elements in his papers.
