HALIFAX - Nova Scotia's growing success in getting its population vaccinated against COVID-19 has created a roadblock for a clinical trial of a Canadian-made vaccine.
The Canadian Centre for Vaccinology at Dalhousie University is trying to complete a Phase 1 trial for a COVID-19 vaccine developed by Edmonton-based Entos Pharmaceuticals Inc. but says it's difficult to find volunteers as more people get shots.
The centre's director, Dr. Scott Halperin, says the search is on for about a dozen people aged between 18 and 55 who haven't been vaccinated yet and who haven't been exposed to the virus to complete the initial phase of the trial.
