Cameron Foundation grant targets under-vaccinated areas in the Crater Region
PETERSBURG - The Cameron Foundation is working with regional health officials to boost vaccination rates among hard-to-reach populations.
Cameron Foundation approved a $230,000 emergency grant for the Crater Health District to immediately hire five new health workers who will expand outreach efforts for the COVID-19 vaccine. The grant is targeting people in the Crater Region who have "vaccine hesitancy," and difficulties with or limited access to technology for navigating the registration system.
Each of these five new positions will begin grass roots outreach in their designated regions. One position will be placed in each of the following localities with hard-to-reach populations - Dinwiddie, Hopewell, Petersburg, Prince George and Sussex.
