A California man met his 3-month-old son for the first time after a nearly seven-month hospital stay due to COVID-19-related complications.
Carnell Hampton, 31, was met with cheers from the staff at Providence Saint Joseph Hospital in Orange, California, after being discharged from the facility he was first admitted to in August, NBC 4 reported on Friday.
"I was just weak. I couldn't get out of bed," Hampton told the outlet.
He spent two weeks on a respirator and suffered from kidney issues and pneumonia.
"They called my lady to let her know I have a 50% chance of living and let her come to the hospital to see me just in case I didn't make it," he added.
