california: California Assembly passes anti-caste discrimination bill; coalition of Hindus of North America calls it a black day

The California State Assembly has passed a bill aimed at combating caste discrimination and protecting marginalized communities. If signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom, California will become the first US state to include caste as a protected category in its anti-discrimination laws. The bill has received bipartisan support and was introduced by State Senator Aisha Wahab.
