More child-care facilities are appearing on Alberta’s list of active COVID-19 outbreaks.
Within the City of Calgary alone, there are now seven daycares or preschools considered to have active outbreaks. One month ago, there were only two outbreaks at city child-care centres.

An outbreak is declared when there are five or more cases at one location, and are declared over when four weeks have passed since the last case was identified.
The Little Scholars Daycare & Preschool in Beddington Heights has 25 cases and the Spruce Cliff Child Enrichment Centre has 24 infections. The former outbreak involves 21 variant cases; in both outbreaks, the majority of those who tested positive have since recovered.
