When Bruce Linton, the founder of Canopy Growth, first drove into town in 2013 he fell in love with the Fuller Post Office building on Russell Street in Smiths Falls. Five years later he bought the neglected building and has since restored it to its former glory, a feat that earned him the Lieutenant-Governor's Heritage Award for Excellence in Conservation in 2021.
