MORE than £4,000 has been raised for a Burnham-on-Sea hospital charity, after 130 people took part in a sponsored beach walk last Saturday.
The walkers set off - at staggered times to prevent large gatherings - towards one of three destinations: Burnham lighthouse, Berrow beach or Brean Down.
They then returned Burnham's Ritz Social Club, for refreshments and certificates of achievement, with all funds raised going to the Friends of Burnham-on-Sea War Memorial Hospital.
The Friends is a charitable foundation which strives to improve the lives of everyone who needs help within the community.
Event organiser Mike Barsby told that
Weekly News that it had been an "amazing response", and they were on target to raise £5,000.
