A persistent burglar has been jailed for more than six years after raiding high-value jewellery, cash and a car in three house break-ins.
Shane Scott targeted homes in Halifax and Blackpool and assaulted the two police officers who went to arrest him, Bradford Crown Court heard today.
Scott, 44, of Mixenden Court, Mixenden, Halifax, was sentenced on a video link to Leeds Prison where he was remanded in custody.
Prosecutor Richard Holland said Scott’s 17 previous convictions for 54 offences included house burglary, robbery and drugs offences.
On May 16 last year, he burgled an occupied house in Athol Green, Ovenden, Halifax, overnight, stealing property including a purse, bank cards, cash, a camera and the householder’s Kia Sportage car.
