In the race for controller — an office that oversees the county's finances — Van Blunk, an attorney, and former county commissioner Warren vied for the nomination to challenge incumbent Democrat Neale Dougherty, who was unopposed in his primary.
The Bucks County Republican Committee recommended Van Blunk for controller. Warren had the backing of the conservative group Right for Bucks.
"The citizens of Bucks County deserve transparency and accountability from our county government, and the non-partisan allegations made in the Coroner’s lawsuit suggest that we currently have neither," Van Blunk said in a statement. "As our next controller, I will fight to improve transparency, expose fraud, and protect taxpayer dollars."
