Bucks County adds ballot drop box, but advocates say more needed
Bucks County advocates for expanding mail-in drop box locations say a recent change is encouraging but still a very small step in improving access.
The Bucks County Board of Elections voted 2-1 on Monday to add a drop box location at the Bucks County Free Library Yardley-Makefield branch in Lower Makefield for the May 18 primary.
The library adds to the county's previous drop boxes at its election offices in Doylestown, Levittown and Quakertown.
Election board member and County Commissioner Gene DiGirolamo said he opposed the increase over a number of logistical concerns and a lack of guidance or mandates from the state legislature.
