Bubble tea, also called boba tea or pearl milk tea, is gradually making its way across the Green Bay area as its popularity surges. Originating from Taiwan, the beloved drink is named after the black, chewy tapioca pearls, or boba, that sit at the bottom.
You can drink bubble tea with an oversized straw to soak up the tapioca pearls. We admit a lack of objectivity on this topic: We think it's very fun to drink if you can find your favorite flavors of bubble tea.
The beverage can be both tea-based (tapioca pearls in a type of tea) or smoothie-based (tapioca pearls in smoothie.) Green Bay's tea spots serve a wide variety of both.
