ROCKFORD — Alderman Kevin Frost will face a challenge from a 26-year-old businessman as he works to keep his seat on City Council in the April 6 consolidated election.
A Rockford attorney, the Republican's bid for a third term on City Council is being challenged by newcomer Bryan Amezquita, who operates a property management business and is a self-described entrepreneur.
Frost says he is seeking a third term to complete unfinished business as he continues to work to make Rockford a better place to live, work and raise a family.
"I feel excited about Rockford continuing to move forward," Frost said in response to a Rockford Register Star candidate questionnaire. "We continue to expand our footprint in many industries, including aerospace and manufacturing. We have health systems that are top tier. We have reduced blight including both commercial and residential properties. We are getting a casino which will fund scholarships for our future leaders."
