Bruce Springsteen helped end Broadway’s 471-day shutdown on Saturday night by kicking off a 30-date limited engagement of his solo show at the St. James Theatre.
The rocker’s sold-out residency, Springsteen on Broadway, which launched in October 2017 at the Walter Kerr Theatre and initially ran until December 2018, returned with an opening night benefit for a collection of New York and New Jersey causes, including Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, the Food Bank for New York City, NJ Pandemic Relief Fund, and The Actors Fund.
