A Brooklyn Park police officer was shot while responding to a call Friday night and treated for a non-life-threatening wound, Brooklyn Park police said early Saturday morning, and the suspected gunman is in custody.
Police were called to the 6500 block of Georgia Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. Friday on a report of a domestic disturbance involving a man who had an order for protection against him, Brooklyn Park police said. Officers initiated contact with the man, who was parked at the caller's home. The man and officers exchanged gunfire, and one officer was struck. The man fled.
