all right. Brooke Stoddard. Jesse Carson, High School head girls' basketball coach. The three. A West Regional champions. They beat Hickory on Tuesday night, 62 to 45. A pretty big win for you guys to become regional champions. Tell me, what was the strategy going into that game? And while like you guys to succeed, Hickory is obviously a great program. Great tradition. You know, they've been extremely successful under coach homes for a long time now, Um, and so, you know, they've They've been in these games before, and this is actually our first, um, regional championship game. Um, but, you know, we know that they've got a great team. Um, senior heavy team. So they've got the experience. They had the experience. Um, they've got some great height, uh, in their in their 64 post player Kellen. And and then, you know, number 40. Just a great player as well. And they got some really good guard play. And so, um, we felt like, you know, if we could really limit number 40 front 32. Um, and then really, um, you know, play 25 for the shot and the other guards for the drive. We thought we could do a good job and and really play good, solid help defense. And that was going to be key, um, to them getting the ball inside. And I thought we did a really good job of that. But I also thought for for us what was key was getting off to a really quick start. We got off to a great start on Tuesday night. So for you guys, it looks like you have four players averaging double figures. One that's pretty close to it. Um, for those that haven't seen your screenplay just kind of take everyone through those main players that are gonna be exciting. I start. Sure. Um, you know, So we we also have a very experienced team. You know, seniors who have been around for four years, which, um, just just an awesome class and and just really happy for them to be in this position to finish their high school careers with the state championship game. That's pretty awesome. Um, so we'll start with Kobe Perry. Number three. Um, she's a shooter. She's a deadly shooter. Um, if if she gets hot, watch out. Um, but she can shoot with great range. Great accuracy. Um, gets a shot off quick. Um, she's also really worked on other aspects of her game, working on taking it hard to the basket. Um, great on ball defender. She's so long. So she leads our team and deflections. Um, she's had a really tremendous season. Has shot the ball. Really, really well this year. Uh, number four. Ellie Will Ham. She's another senior. Our combo guard. You know, sometimes she'll play the one for us. Sometimes she'll play the two for us. Uh, just really, really steady. Um, you know, Ellie can score at all three levels. Um, she got hot on Tuesday night to really get us out to a great start, but, um, she can score it. Well, she can handle it. She's great. Pass her defends and rebounds. Really? Well, just an all around really good player. Um, and then we'll go to Carly Perry. Number 14. She's a forward for us. She has been fantastic in the playoffs for us. Um, she is our girl who just really gets after it plays with an extreme amount of toughness and grit. Um, she has rebounded like a beast. The last several games. Um, but she's also scored for us to beat some bangs, but has increased her range and so she can step out and hit the three as well. Um, just really done a tremendous job for us. Um, senior point guard Laney Eiseley number 10. She's been a great floor general for us. Um, extremely unselfish. He's going to get the ball where it needs to go. You know, she's also had the task the last, the last several games of just defending the other team's best player. Um, and she just has done a really good job. She's going to step up and take charges for us. She's gonna rebound well for us. She's gonna get the ball up the floor really, really quickly. We want to run in transition. Um, and she does a really good job of just getting the ball up the floor really fast. Um, and just playing also with a lot of toughness. And the number 23 Hannah easily. Um, Laney's sister, uh, she is She plays in the guard forward spot for us. Um, but she runs the floor. Really? Well, um, is really kind of sneaky. Quick. Um make some really good moves around the basket. She scores in transition. She can step out and hit the three. Um, she's done a really a really great job for us as well. Thank you for thank you for that run down. That was very informative. Normally, I'll ask that question. I'll get kind of like, Oh, yeah, they can do this, but you kind of give us the whole picture. So that was good. Um, you're playing Asheboro. I think Coach Corey mentioned that you guys know each other a little bit. We didn't. What do you know about obviously, you know, his coaching style and also that team he has, because they're also very, uh, very talented. And the starting lineup? Yes. So, um, I have watched some film on them. They look extremely athletic. Um, they look like they like to get up and down the floor. Um, really, really quick. Looks like they defend. Well, um, you know, we're going to have to really do a good job of keeping them in front of the in front of us and stopping the drive. Um, looks like they've got a shooter who's really accurate and has some really great range. So we're gonna have to do a good job on her. Um, you know, they're post player number five. Looks like she, um, can do a lot of different things. She can get out in transition. She looks like she can rebound and take the ball the length of the floor. Um, super athletic. Um, their guards can handle it really well. Um, and it looks like they're really deadly. If they get by you and get into the lane, they're scoring or they're making that that accurate pass into the post. So we're going to have to do a really good job. I think of stopping the ball in transition, and then we're going to have to do a really good job of stopping the drive. I think, Yeah, that's that's a very talented seen warriors. Next couple of days of practice, going to look like for you guys. Lastly here. Just just these next couple of days. As far as Yeah. So we went a little bit lighter yesterday just because you use a lot of legs on on Tuesday, um, and just got a lot of shots up. And really, right now, we're just fine tuning things. Um, you know, running through our stuff, you know, today we're going to do we're going to focus a lot more on our defense. Um, and really, what we need to do to be successful on Saturday. Um, And then tomorrow we're gonna go a little bit shorter. Um, just to make sure that we're ready. So you know, this point in the season, we're not looking to do anything really new or different. I'm a big believer in, um there's certain things that got us to this point and so really gets more fine tuning and and making sure that we're ready and focused for Saturday. Coach, we really appreciate having you want. It's an exciting week for you. Kind of a role wind while stuff going on in addition to coaching. But it's still fun. None the less. And it's gonna be a good game on Saturday. I think so. Appreciate having you on telling us about your team for sure. Thank you so much for having me
