ENGLEWOOD, Colo. тАФ The Broncos have signed tight end Eric Saubert and released quarterback Jeff Driskel, the team announced Monday.
Saubert is a fifth-year player who was drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He spent the first two years of his career in Atlanta, where he appeared in 30 games. Saubert served largely as a special teams contributor, as he played more than half of Atlanta's special teams plays in 2017-18. He also played 17 percent of Atlanta's offensive snaps in 2018.
The 6-foot-5, 253-pound player was traded to New England in August of 2019 and then spent time on the Raiders' practice squad. The Bears signed him to their active roster in late November of 2019, and he appeared in two games late in the year.
