BROCKTON — As a chef for 18 years, and a Brockton resident for over 20 years, Amarr Anthony Reid knows the importance of being home grown.
In the history of Brockton, gardens have been planted at the Fuller Craft Museum, the VA Hospital, Brockton Hospital and the Brockton Public Library, according to the Brockton Garden Club, which has been around since 1929.
Long missing from Brockton has been an orchard, something Reid hopes to change.
Reid is in the process of putting together a community garden and orchard at 311 Quincy St., after getting the approval on March 12 of Mayor Robert Sullivan and Superintendent of Schools Michael Thomas over Zoom.
