Huron County will be more connected as the governments of Canada and Ontario each committed up to $2.4 million to connect more than 1,850 homes and businesses to reliable internet access with the signing of 10 contracts for broadband infrastructure.
Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) has awarded contracts to expand broadband in Huron County to the following Internet Service Providers: Tuckersmith Communications, Hay Communications, Wightman Telecom, and HuronTel.

Valued at $15,035,338, the County of Huron has committed up to $2.8 million through the SWIFT Plus Program in a bid to connect the region and improve rural internet access for Huron County residents currently in the connectivity gap.
