BRIMFIELD — While the official opening date for the annual Brimfield Outdoor Antiques Market is set for Wednesday, just one of the fields along the typically crowded Route 20 will welcome shoppers for the May installation of the thrice annual flea markets.
Brimfield Auction Acres, formerly known as J&J Promotions Antiques and Collectibles, at 35 Main St., will open Wednesday morning and promises, "expanded dealer space, safety conscious guidelines," and free admission.
The field is known as the birthplace of Brimfield because the antiques markets started there.
The event has now grown to more than 20 fields and thousands of dealers who line Route 20 in May, July and September each year.
