MEPs in the European Parliament want a deal to be agreed by Sunday, warning if this deadline is not met, they will be unable to fully scrutinise any agreement properly before a vote ahead of the transition period deadline. But Downing Street has insisted the UK is focused on agreeing a new relationship "by the end of the month". Boris Johnson's spokesman said: "We want to get our relationship agreed by the end of the month whether that's an FTA or we leave on an Australia style, WTO terms. We've ruled out previously extending negotiations into the new year."
