(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – A former aide to Ex- president Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak, has been reportedly shot dead in Owerri, the Imo state capital, by unknown gunmen.
He was allegedly ambushed and shot (Sunday) morning on his way to the Sam Mbakwe Cargo airport after concluding a visit to the state.
Sources who craved anonymity said he was scheduled to board the 8:30am flight to Abuja when he met his untimely death.
The deceased served as special Adviser (SPA) on political matters to Ex- president Jonathan prior to his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in 2014
He was also the chairman of the Imo state APC governorship primary in which the incumbent governor of the state, Senate Hope Uzodinmma, became the party’s flag bearer.
