Some 5,405 persons, as of last week Friday, December 4, were employed in this year’ Christmas Road Cleaning Programme set for completion in seven days.
The complement of workers included 450 gangs and 905 jobbers. In addition, over 100 truckers were expected to be employed.
All of this was disclosed in a release from Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA), which is responsible for conducting the Programme.
Mr. Rohan Cupid, Communications Officer of BRAGSA, says the gangs will be out from 7 a.m in every district across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
