This “Open Mike” column originally started out as a one-year anniversary piece about the COVID-19 pandemic that you may have heard about. Decided there will be lots of stories and media (too many?) on that story. Instead decided to write a column about Ireland as St. Patrick’s Day draws near. The theme is based on the Irish saying, “A good laugh and a long sleep are the two best cures for anything.” So hopefully this St. Patrick’s Day column will give you a good laugh and you won’t have a long sleep until you are finished reading it.
