NOVATO, CA — A 75-year-old Novato man was arrested for alleged impaired-driving after his vehicle struck and hurt a father and critically injured his 4-year-old son, both in a crosswalk Wednesday evening in Novato, according to authorities.
The child was taken to Marin General Hospital and later airlifted to an Oakland children's hospital, where he was listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, the Novato Police Department said today.
The driver, Edward Cox, was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail for suspicion of felony driving while under the influence, police said.
