Book club offerings expand at Shreve Memorial Library
Samantha Bonnette
More than a year ago, Shreve Memorial Libraries offered a vast amount of book clubs for all interests. At the library, you could find a book club on historical fiction, sci-fi, women empowerment, self-help, local authors, teen only clubs, and so many more. In March 2020, all library programming ceased due to the pandemic and began to transition to virtual and online platforms.
I am happy to say that in August we launched the SML Virtual Book Club, and the club continues to meet monthly, partnering with a different Shreve Memorial Library book club each month. This month, the SML Virtual Book Club will be joined by the Cedar Grove-Line Avenue Branch’s Red River Readers for a jazz-infused discussion of POPS: A Life of Louis Armstrong by Terry Teachout. Join us for “Jazzin’ It Up” on Tuesday, April 13 at 6 p.m.
