A former Falmouth Packet reporter hopes that readers will be barking about his latest novel ‘Our Patch’.
John Hutchins, wrote his first book, ‘The Carved Angel’, while he was a reporter and sub-editor on the Packet and South West Farmer in 2004.
The idea for his first book, which was published in 2014, came while he was attending a creative writing course at Falmouth School.
This book, set in North Yorkshire before and during the First World War, has inspired his second novel ‘Our Patch’ about a loveable Bedlington terrier and his adventures with his owner, miner’s son Tommy Wagstaff, and all the other ‘two paws’ (humans) and ‘four paws’ (dogs, cats and other animals) in the village.
