England take on Ukraine in Rome today in what is a huge game for both nations.
And while the majority of homes and packed out pubs across the borough will be cheering on England — the ‘small but strong’ Ukrainian community in Bolton will be hoping Andriy Shevchenko’s men can cause a shock result.
This is the first time Ukraine has reached this stage of the Euros, and excitement has been building in the community since they came through Sweden in extra-time on Tuesday night.
The Bolton Ukrainian Cultural Centre, on Castle Street in The Haulgh, is already fully booked for the game after they experienced ‘unprecedented demand’ to watch the game in the social club.
