The procession traveled through Suffield, where residents were encouraged to line the route.
Evans died April 2 in Washington, D.C., when a driver struck him and another officer at a barricade outside the Senate. He was the second Capitol Police officer killed in the line of duty this year; Officer Brian Sicknick died after his encounter with rioters during the Jan. 6 insurrection.
A native of North Adams and graduate of Western New England University, Evans was honored Tuesday in a ceremony at the Capitol Rotunda.
