MUMBAI: The Maharashtra school education department decided to allow physical sessions for the classes V to VIII from January 27 with permission from chief minister Uddhav Thackeray. Meanwhile the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) has decided to keep schools shut until further notice.
Varsha Gaikwad, minister for school education told the media that the local authority should take the responsibility of the safety measures on the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic. About other measures the minister said, “Though the state will issue separate standard operating procedure (SOP) soon about how to go ahead with the reopening of schools in the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
