Twenty years after the hit animated film "Shrek" charmed theater audiences, North Star Media, a Bloomfield Hills-based music licensing and publishing company, has acquired the royalty rights to all of the original music from the award-winning film franchise.
The family-owned company bought the original composition royalty rights in a $2.2 million cash deal at an auction from Royalty Exchange on July 20, North Star President and CEO Jordan Dorfman told Crain's.
