WILMINGTON, N.C. — Blacks Tire and Wheel Distributors (BTS) has opened its ninth distribution center to service the Wilmington area.
The Whiteville, N.C.-based family-owned tire dealership officially inaugurated the 30,000 sq.-ft. facility on May 1, "to better service areas where we already are in," said Rick Benton II, vice president of BTS.
BTS classifies the Wilmington facility as a "satellite" distribution center, which typically are under 60,000 square feet. BTS now operates four satellite centers to complement its five major D/Cs.
"With the pandemic, we think it's important to keep growing, and keep growing our network," Mr. Benton said. "Supply and personnel have been challenging, but we are blessed with our BTS family and culture that we are a team and recruit from within."
