This Lancashire town is ready to welcome tourists back to major indoor attractions from Monday
A Lancashire town that relies on tourism to boost its economy is preparing to put out the welcome mat after the government confirmed that remaining restrictions on its industry will be lifted from May 17.
The Prime Minister’s roadmap announcement has paved the way for indoor hospitality and attractions to reopen in Blackpool along with show venues, hotels and guesthouses.
On Monday, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Culture at Blackpool Council, Cllr Gillian Campbell, said it was “brilliant news” for the tourism industry.
She said: “The past 15 months have presented some of the most difficult and challenging times in Blackpool’s long tourism history.
