US tech chiefs are hoping to dodge an immediate crackdown under Joe Biden's administration as internet regulation slips down the new President's list of priorities.
Industry leaders are thought to be breathing a sigh of relief after tougher rules were left out from a string of executive orders signed by President Biden on his first day in the Oval Office.
The President sparked alarm earlier this month by promising to “immediately revoke” Section 230, an internet rule that grants some immunity to technology firms from legal action over posts by users on their site - a move which could potentially expose them to massive losses through lawsuits.
