Big dreams for future of 'The Art Garage' in Port Clinton
Building 'TAG'ged for 'cultural destination' for economic impact
PORT CLINTON - With even bigger plans on the horizon, The Art Garage already is beginning to transform the atmosphere around a previously quiet and unassuming block near downtown Port Clinton.
What was mere months ago an unoccupied and significantly worn old structure at 317 W. Perry St., which had long ago served as the former city garage, is now a bastion of color and creativity bustling with activity.
As a vision of the Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council, The Art Garage, or “TAG” for short, is a space where artists of all mediums will be able to come together with the community to share their individual talents — while also connecting the area west of the Portage River drawbridge with the rest of Port Clinton’s historic downtown district.
