This past week has been an eye-opening experience. A lot of Texans were without power for days, and many were without running water.
Being in the bitter cold with the temperatures down in the single digits for us Texans who are not used to it and a state that's not prepared for a winter storm of that magnitude, we had to go in survival mode.
I noticed during this natural disaster (as I want to call it) that so many people stepped up and helped their fellow Texans. Many provided a warm place to stay and get a good meal. I noticed on my social media that individuals opening their homes to strangers. I saw people getting out in the weather with their 4X4 trucks helping people get somewhere safe or bringing food and water to them. Some were even delivery fire wood.
