Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 15) — Several groups led by US-based Filipinos urged US President Joe Biden to help speed up the delivery of the initial doses of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine purchased by the Philippines, in light of the fresh surge in coronavirus cases in the country.
They sent a letter to Biden asking him to "advocate for the immediate release of five million Moderna [vaccine doses] by May and not to wait until July 2021."
"The situation is dire, and the Philippines needs immediate help," the organizations added.
