Beveridge man cops hefty fine for illegal dumping
The decision to dump a trailer load of waste on Old Sydney Road has proven a costly exercise for a man from Beveridge.
Mitchell Shire Council is serious about stamping out illegal dumping, and last month successfully prosecuted the man in Seymour Magistrates’ Court
On 3 November, 2020, Council’s CCTV cameras captured a vehicle with a trailer stopping on Old Sydney Road. Two men got out of the vehicle and unloaded the rubbish on the side of road before driving away.
The Beveridge man, who didn’t appear in court, was found guilty of aggravated littering, failure to respond to request for information and failure to remove litter when directed and was fined $2127.40.
