Bevacqua: Dubbing big film into CHamoru could reach youths

May 4 is an important day for fans of “Star Wars.” It is a date made special because of how it fits perfectly into the pun, “May the Fourth be with you.” The “Star Wars” universe is massive and continues to expand through books, games, movies television shows and even theme parks.
Usually on this day, fans take to social media with “Star Wars”-themed posts and sometimes Disney or Lucasfilm will make important announcements.
In 2013, the “Star Wars” universe received its most indigenous contribution, when “Star Wars: A New Hope” was translated and dubbed into the Navajo language. This was made possible through a collaboration with the Navajo Nation and the Navajo Nation Museum. They have gone on to dub other movies into their language, including "Finding Nemo."
