Benld man dies in US 66 crash

MOUNT OLIVE — A Benld man died Monday in a single-vehicle crash in Macoupin County, according to Illinois State Police.
Frank Wargo, 67, of Benld was going south on U.S. 66 near Koniak Lane about 12:55 p.m. Monday when his vehicle went off the road. Police said the vehicle went into a grove of trees and ended up in a shallow ditch.
