Bengaluru Metro: Modi Cabinet Approves Much Awaited Phase 2A, 2B Connecting Silk Board-K R Puram-Airport

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (20 April) approved Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase 2A and Phase 2B of total length 58.19 km. The total completion cost of the project is Rs. 14,788.101 Crore.
Phase 2A is a 18.23 km long elevated line that proposes to connect K R Puram and the Central Silk Board along the outer ring road (ORR) while Phase 2B connects KR Puram to Bengaluru airport spanning a length of 37 km.
ORR is among the densest corridors in the IT capital of India. It is dotted with major IT Parks that houses major companies such as Intel, AOL, Cisco and others.
