It appears people may be able to ride the historic merry-go-round at Ross Park on Binghamton's South Side this season.
The city was awarded a state grant six years ago to help cover the cost of restoring the park's carousel. But the work on the project has been delayed by bureaucratic red tape.
Ross Park Zoo executive director Phillip Ginter said city representatives have indicated the carousel "actually may be open this season."
Speaking on WNBF Radio's
Binghamton Now program, Ginter said "stay tuned... We're hoping to be able to make an announcement" that the oldest carousel in Broome County could operate this year.
