Following winter storm Uri and recent wild hail storms, it's hard to believe we are on the cusp of another major weather event — hurricane season.
Back in April, Dr. Phil Klotzbach presented his team's research at the National Tropical Weather Conference. He announced 17 named storms during the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season and predicted a "well above average" hurricane season. Klotzbach also predicted eight of those storms becoming hurricanes and four will be classified as major hurricanes.
