Oscar Sarmiento is a professor of Modern Languages at SUNY Potsdam. He's a published poet and regular contributor to the music scene of the North Country playing shows with the Caramelo Trio and a larger group named Piquant! He came to the U.S. from Chile in 1986 attending school in Oregon where he got his Phd. He says he's eternally grateful that he brought his guitar with him on that trip.
Sarmiento reflects on the joys of music making and shares the touching story behind his composition "Angels of Ghana."
