Beached ferry reminder of Washington's aging fleet as state struggles to replace boats

Gov. Jay Inslee stood on the shores of Bainbridge Island, where he looked on as nearly 600 passengers aboard the beached ferry Walla Walla were loaded onto rescue boats, an unwelcome marker of the 111th anniversary of the Titanic's sinking.
