The City of Carlsbad and the Carlsbad Police Department are hosting a beach volleyball tournament beginning at 9 a.m. June 19 at our new sand volleyball courts at the beach area. This will be a fundraiser for the Special Olympics. There’s a $100 entry fee for the 6-person competition, and there will also be a dunk tank set up where you can throw balls at our fire chief, assistant police chief and other officials. We’ll have several vendors and a DJ there.
The tournament will be organized based upon how many teams sign up, but it will be open to everyone. We already have received interest from several local teams, and the registration cost will support a good cause. For more information, please call Cpl.
